A perfect catch! This great cormorant emerges from the water with a fresh fish, showcasing its expert fishing skills. With sharp eyesight and lightning-fast reflexes, these birds are built for underwater hunting. However, their success isn’t always celebrated—fishermen often see them as competitors rather than part of the natural balance. Calls for culls ignore the fact that cormorants have been fishing these waters far longer than humans. Instead of scapegoating wildlife, maybe it’s time to look at how we manage fish stocks.
